Bringing the Ocean to the City
Commissioned by The Curve Mall in Mutiara Damansara, this vibrant aquatic feature was designed to spark curiosity in city-dwelling children. The goal: create a jetty-inspired reef habitat where young visitors could observe the colorful world of reef fish — right in the heart of a bustling shopping center.

A Display of Engineering and Imagination
The custom-built 5.2m x 1.5m x 1m steel tank, with a front-facing acrylic panel, weighed in at over a ton. Its installation was a feat of logistics and precision: the tank was hoisted two storeys high, maneuvered across pedestrian bridges, through narrow hallways, and into its final home at the Kids Zone on the first floor.

End-to-End Execution
From filtration design and aquatic life introduction to ongoing maintenance and livestock care, BLU ensured the entire system runs seamlessly and sustainably. Today, mall visitors and children gather to explore the reef display — learning about marine biodiversity in a safe, engaging space.

Inspiring the Next Generation
More than just an attraction, this installation is a spark — one we hope leads city kids to a lifelong connection with ocean life and marine conservation.
